Found Object Sculptures: 
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Hey there, folks! 4th and 5th grade students have been having tons of fun creating found object sculptures to exhibit at the 2019 Science Night. After taking a look at art by Louise Nevelson and contemporary artist Angela Pozzi, students were then prompted to team up and create their own found object sculptures. But that was not it - they faced a challenge. Not only were we to use recyclables and repurpose what would otherwise be garbage, we decided to give our sculptures a job that could help to make the world a better place. Transform the size of food to help appease world hunger? Robotic filters that balance out water ecosystems? The sky is the limit! This week our mission was to PAINT our objects. The mess was worth it, because, 1.) We have been  learning a lot about teamwork and problem-solving and 2.) The way the sculptures look are going to rock y'all's world!
